The Glendalough Hotel in Wicklow has been welcoming guests to this beautiful valley since the 1860’s.

We are a 3-star family run hotel, we focus on simple home comforts for our guests. We choose excellent mattresses, because your rest is important to us and we use locally sourced headboards and furniture from Wicklow to support our local craftspeople. We have added blackout blinds to some bedrooms.

We have a rolling program of refurbishments with the most recent work carried out in early 2024 in the Lobby, bedroom corridors and meeting rooms. In winter 2022/2023 we upgraded all of our bedrooms.

Our rooms come with the following amenities:

• Tea and Coffee making facilities
• Hairdryer
• TV with over 50 stations
• Workstation/Table
• Complimentary Wi-Fi

For great views over the Glendasan River to the Monastic city side of the valley, upgrade your room to a Superior or Balcony bedroom.

Bedrooms are refreshed daily.

Breakfast is served from 8.15 am – 9.45 am

All of our bedrooms are non-smoking, check-in at The Glendalough Hotel is at 3.00 pm, and check-out is at 11 am.

In the 100+ years that the hotel has been operating in Glendalough guests have ranged from Royalty in the original hotel to famous artists and musicians, (Horseslips recorded in the Bawns across from the hotel) and many family gatherings have taken place here. You can see some of our original guest book pages framed on the walls in the Hotel Lobby. The hotel is full of old-world charm and many original features can still be found with the original call bells still in reception, the old Grandfather clock in the lobby made by Master and Sons of Dublin and the Waterford crystal Chandelier that hangs from the main stairs. This does mean bedroom sizes are not standard, some rooms are larger than others and they have different views.
