The Glendalough Hotel in Wicklow has been welcoming guests to this beautiful valley since the 1860’s. In that time guests have ranged from Royalty in the original hotel to famous artists and musicians, (Horseslips recorded in the Bawns next to our craft shop) and many family gatherings have taken place here. You can see some of our original guest book pages framed on the walls in the Hotel Lobby.

All of our bedrooms are non-smoking, check-in at The Glendalough Hotel is at 3.00 pm, and check-out is at 11 am.

Our rooms come with the following amenities:

  • Tea and Coffee making facilities
  • Hairdryer
  • TV with over 50 stations
  • Workstation/Table
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Spare pillows in the wardrobe
  • Selection of toiletries from our sustainable dispensers sourced in Ireland

Bedrooms are refreshed daily.

We have a rolling program of refurbishments with the most recent in the Lobby, bedroom corridors and meeting rooms in Winter 2024 and in winter 2022/2023 we upgraded all of our bedrooms. The focus is on a simple offer where comfort is important for our guests so we choose excellent Mattresses, Wicklow made headboards and carpentry and have added blackout blinds to some bedrooms.

Our hotel is full of old-world charm and many original features can still be found in the hotel with the original call bells still in reception as is the old Grandfather clock made by Master and Sons of Dublin and the Waterford crystal Chandelier in the lobby. This does mean bedroom sizes are not standard so some rooms are larger than others.
