“Return to an old favorite”
I led a pilgrimage group of 25 people to the Glendalough Hotel in May. I love this hotel.
This was my third stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and all our group’s needs were met. John, the manager, was especially helpful. We ate all of our breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, and the food was delicious. The proximity of the hotel to the monastic city is unbeatable. Granted, the hotel is older and could use a systematic refurbishment, but all in all we had a lovely stay. In fact, I’m returning in August.

“Brenda Drumm reviewed Glendalough Hotel — 5 star (Facebook)”
We stayed recently in the hotel and loved it. The proximity to the great walks and hikes as well as to the monastic site is superb. It really is location location location. The staff are fabulous – welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The food was rustic and delicious. The lamb shank was to die for and the tiramisu stunning. The hotel room was comfy and the bathroom nice and roomy. The hotel was quiet and peaceful during the night. Breakfast is 10/10. We will be back.

“I Kept Going Back!”
Glendalough Hotel is one of those places that calls you back. Maybe it’s something to do with the surrounding mountains and lake, or perhaps the 6th century monastery only minutes away; maybe it has something to do with the county it rests in. All I know is this: I cancelled non-refundable bookings twice in my first journey to Ireland just to stay in Wicklow County and ended in Glendalough Hotel both times. I drove from Northern Ireland to this hotel just because I needed to return. What can I say? The place is Stephen King-esque, but the people hosting are grand and the views are to die for.

“Wonderful and unexpected delight”.
Arrived at Glendalough late in the day, and after walking around the monastic sites decided to stay at this hotel. Reasonable price and charming old style hotel. Is located right next to the ruins, and a pretty little river. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious and clean, and dinner was delicious. the dining room was warm and inviting. We wanted to stay another night but unfortunately they were booked up for a wedding the following day. We will definitely be staying here again.

“Fabulous Hotel”
An overnight break to get away from the madness of life. What a hotel. Room was perfect, clean and fresh. Bar food was delicious as was breakfast the next morning. Hotel staff were friendly and professional. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer hotel to just chill and relax in. Will definitely be back.

“Wonderful”
Glendalough is an amazing place to visit. Our hotel offered us a nice room with a big bathroom and a bath tub. We enjoyed our dinner and could even play billard and piano downstairs. During the day we liked going for a walk around glendalough lake and the stunning scenery. All in all, lovely short trip.

I would like to you to pass on my sincere thanks to the chef for the wonderful dinner he created for us. I have the reputation for being hard to please when it comes to food, but the dinner on Saturday night was one of the best that I can remember
