The Glendalough Hotel is the ideal venue for your Civil ceremony. As an already approved venue, we have the experience and on site facilities to host your Civil marriage or Blessing. Backing onto the Glendalough National Park, and Monastic Site, with breathtaking views. We are delighted to assist with any aspect of planning from your Ceremony through to the dancing.

If you wish to get married by civil ceremony in a place other than a Registry Office, you must ensure that your chosen venue is approved by the Registrar of Civil Marriages. The first step is to approach the Registrar in the district in which you intend to marry for information on how to proceed, however, there is no requirement to live in the district that you would like to get married.

Similar to arranging a Church Marriage, you are required to give 3 months notice to the Registrar. Once you have confirmation of the availability of date at an approved venue, the availability of the Registrar to solemnise the marriage on your chosen date all can be set.

The Guidelines for Marriage Venues are available on the General Registrar's website.
